The Loss of our home at Philadelphia

The statement we thought we would never have to make.

Official Statement

It is with great regret that the Northern National Restoration Group (NNRG) must issue a statement we had hoped to never to make.

As of yesterday, new heads of terms were signed for our current premises. Unfortunately, these terms were not agreed with NNRG. Instead, Esh Estates have entered into an arrangement with another party able to purchase the building outright, which leaves us without a home.

After years of operating from our current building, we've been informed that we must leave the site by the end of December 2025, and we are now in critical need of a new large space to continue our vital work. This development presents us with a significant challenge. One of our immediate priorities is to secure a new base suitable for housing and maintaining our fleet of 10 vehicles.

What We Need:

  • A large building or warehouse (ideally 10,000+ sq ft)

  • • Located in or around Durham, Sunderland, Chester le street

  • Basic utilities and secure access

  • Ideally low-cost or donated — we’re a registered charity with limited funds

What We Do: The NNRG is a volunteer-run charity that restores and preserves historic vehicles, from across the Northern region. We provide -on training for young people interested in heritage and restoration skills. Losing our space threatens the future of these projects — and the preservation of history itself.

How You Can Help:

  • Know a vacant building? Let us know!

  • Have contacts in real estate or local councils? Please connect us.

  • Want to support us financially? Donations are more vital now than ever.

Please get in touch via Facebook or email us thennrg@gmail.com

This is more than just a building — it's a space where history is brought back to life, and where future generations can learn the value of preservation, skill, and community. Help us keep that mission alive.

The Northern National Restoration Group greatly values the ongoing support of our members and the wider community.

Your assistance and understanding during this difficult period are sincerely appreciated.
