Throughout the rally season, our buses appear at events across the region, representing the rich heritage of North East transport. Behind the scenes, every vehicle is maintained, restored and cared for by our members all year round. We also work alongside friends within the wider preservation community, creating a supportive and collaborative environment.

But keeping a heritage charity running takes more than spanners and polish. We need a wide range of skills — from cleaning and organisation to administration, marketing, fundraising and project management. Whether you’re mechanically minded, creatively driven, or simply passionate about heritage, there’s a place for you in our team.

We are proud to be a registered charity (No. 1193235) and rely on the enthusiasm, generosity and dedication of our members and supporters to fund the restoration and maintenance of our vehicles.

Could you help us?

Would you like to be involved in the maintenance, restoration, and rallying of our fleet, or any of the support activities that a group like us needs, we would love to hear from you?

If you have a relevant skill, that is good, but it is not essential - many of us are enthusiastic but have no special knowledge, and some members may simply contribute by supporting us through their membership fee. You will be very welcome either way.

Membership is open to any individual over the age of 18 years old.

What is in it for you?

We are hoping that all members will take some practical part in the care, maintenance, and restoration of our vehicles, or in its fundraising, educational or support activities. If you cannot, do not worry, your membership will still entitle you to:

You can apply online below, pick up our easy membership application form from us at a rally, and send us your membership fee via direct debit. You will receive more information in your joining email.

What then?
Either sit back and wait for the newsletters to arrive, knowing your money is helping to preserve these great old vehicles for posterity, or come along and get your hands dirty. The choice is yours.

Friends – £20 a year

• Advance notice & priority ordering of road runs and events with the NNRG

Member - £10 a Month

  • Chance to volunteer in and around the depot

  • A newsletter twice a year

  • Transport on the Group's buses to some rallies which the Group is attending. We may ask you for a contribution towards the cost of the fuel for the journey;

  • The Group will arrange members' day out on its vehicles to places of interest.

  • Of course, like a member of any such Group, you will be invited to AGMs and entitled to vote there to select the Executive Committee that runs the Group on your behalf.

  • Insight day – learn a new skill, learn how to weld, use a pipe bender, and much more.

  • Financially support the charities projects
